Reflection brings Revelation

January 10, 2017

Hi Friends,

How are you doing with your evaluation of 2016 into 2017? Have you set aside time to be with God, and reflect? I do this on a daily basis and call it my sacred space and sacred time. Time to be with God, pray and journal. Time to hear from God. Time to reflect.

Reflection brings revelation, revelation brings clarity, and clarity, gets the ball rolling for action.

I do realize some people aren't as excited as I am to bring on the change. It takes time, energy and effort. Sometimes you can get stuck in analysis paralysis. Don't give up, the Apostle Paul says we have been given the mind of Christ! The more time we spend with Him the more we can access His thoughts and ways.

As your friend, Instructor, and Life Coach, creating space for change is my job, but it’s also who I am. I love to go deeper, connect, be in the middle of the action, and experience breakthrough, and healing.  I put in the time, I study, and develop my craft, so that I can share the love of Christ, and wholy-living with others.

A growth mindset, a willing heart, and the decision to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone, is the key to moving forward. There are no magic wands, darn it, transformation happens outside the comfort zone.

You will spend your time on what you value. What do you value?

John Maxwell, says, “Activity is not accomplishment, and growth is not automatic.”

After reviewing 2016, answer the following in the areas of mind, body, spirit, work, finances, relationship, and fun:

What repeated themes have shown up? i.e. Being late, over-reacting, over emotional. Or, Joy every time you ___.

What obstacle do you need to overcome? i.e. Toxic thoughts, comparison, unworthiness., so that ___.

What do you want to declare in 2017?  i.e. Quality time with God, so that___,  whole health, so that___.

How can you learn more about _____? So you can ____. i.e. Take a class, attend conference, etc., so that ___.

Who do you need to ask help from? Who is successful at ____ to glean from? so that____.

What would it mean to accomplish your goal/s in 2017? i.e. Living on purpose vs. default so that__. Use my gifts, so that___.

How would it feel to accomplish your goal/s in 2017? i.e. Victorious! so that___.

What is your next step? i.e. Start a daily practice of time with God. Invite Him to plan with you. Write down SMART goal/s.

Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Relevant, and Time Sensitive. Write down next to each goal your "so that" statement or why it's important to you. Ask yourself how you will feel when you accomplish the goal/s or if you do not. Understand and feel what the cost is.

Whatever you learn, grow from, and apply, impacts your family, friends, co-workers, etc.. Imagine the ripple effect!

We don't get to where we want to go by ourselves. God meant for us to lean into Him, and others, "so that" we experience communion.  Your purposeful actions will contribute to a new experience.

Remember Christ in you, His joy, His life to the full.

Here's to making it happen! Love you all,

Denise

P.S. Need support, encouragement, or accountability? Call me, I'm here for you!

19-21 What actually took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn’t work. So I quit being a “law man” so that I could be God’s man. Christ’s life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I am not going to go back on that.

Is it not clear to you that to go back to that old rule-keeping, peer-pleasing religion would be an abandonment of everything personal and free in my relationship with God? I refuse to do that, to repudiate God’s grace. If a living relationship with God could come by rule-keeping, then Christ died unnecessarily. Galatians 2:20-21 (MSG)
